About

Welcome to my page! I am Wency. I am a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, under the supervision of Prof. Victor Junnan Pan (https://victorjunnanpan.github.io/pansyntaxlab/people/).

Before joining CUHK, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Brain Function Laboratory within the Neurosurgical Institute of Fudan University (https://www.huashan.org.cn/wulab/about/). There, I was fortunate to be supervised by Prof. Wu Jinsong and Prof. Lu Junfeng. My current work involved various neuroimaging research, including DTI analysis of children with ASD, EEG studies, and meta-analyses. I also gained hands-on experience and familiarity with a range of cognitive neuroscience methodologies, including ECoG, fMRI, and TMS. I am interested in and have some experience on Hong Kong Sign Language as well.

I hold a Master of Arts in Linguistics from University College London, which I completed in 2022. I am keen on integrating formal linguistic theory with cutting-edge neurotechnological tools to ask new questions about how the brain processes syntax.
